These plugs are a direct replacement for the OE plugs. The IK20's are the same heat range as the stock '02+ plugs & the IK22's are one heat range colder.
These plugs are also good for most '90-'01 Subarus, please see Denso's application guide to find the part for your specific year & engine.
Colder plugs are good for modified WRX's that are running increased boost pressure. These are also good for most RS-T's that require colder plugs.
Here are some pics:

Aloha Hawaii! We have near blizzard conditions outside right now, I'd much rather be there!
Yes, the plugs are pregapped so no adjustment is necessary.

I'd recommend the regular heat range plugs (IK20's) for stock setups or even with just an exhaust or mild mods. Once you start upping the boost and getting more mods I'd recommend the colder plugs (IK22's). If you plan on doing more mods in the future you should hold off on getting the IK20's now and wait to get the IK22's later. Chances are your stock plugs are just fine for now.

Hmmmmmmm.....
Is it a coincidence that Hman, the member who gave you positive feedback, has the exact same registration date as you, the vendor? I was interested in the plugs... but this makes me suspect. Please correct me if I'm making something out of nothing.
