Barely USED RACING Spec SE37K 17s
Barely USED RACING Spec SE37K 17s
We just got in one set of barely used SE37K's perfect for the serious auto-crosser and road-racer:
Front - 17x8.5 5x100 +50 - Bronze
Rear - 17x8.0 5x100 +46 - Bronze
WILL CLEAR STI BREMBO CALIPERS
Notice the nice staggered width and offset... can run slightly wider tires in the front for maximum grip and keep sidewall flex to an absolute minimum for maximum stearing response
There is no curb rash, bends, deep scratches, cracks whatsoever
We're asking $1499 shipped for the set
Thanks

Nice set!
Actually, the reverse stagger setup is very common in Japan. However, they always run same size tires. They just use wider front rims to minimize sidewall flex therefore improving turn-in. This is JDM "black magic" that has not been really adopted in US.
Awesome wheels!
Great props to the futur buyer of these babies!

Weight has nothing to do with it. Its the overall rolling diameter. Or, better yet, the speed at which the front wheels spin versus the rear wheels. What happens when they spin at diff speeds, is the center diff heats up. And it is gets too hot, you blow things up.
However, the wheels do not always spin at the same speed. So, the center diff can work like that. And, the rolling diameter of tires mounted on 8" vs. 8.5" is not that big. Plus, you rear tires wear out faster anyways, so it is all good.
Like I said, black magic. Lots of misconceptions.
Like the weight thing you just said.

shipping added a couple nicks and scratches as the box wore away and something was hitting a lip, but still nice.
slapped some 245/40-17 es100's on them to keep the noise down. the v700's will go on my rota torques.
sadly, i cannot feel the difference in the stiffer stretched sidewall of the 8.5's making turn in better as i am used to race profile v700's in the 245 size and 225 stocks on the street and not used to street tire 245's round profiles.
i do know that turn in got duller as compared to the stock 225's as expected with a wider tire.

thanks gruppe-s(MAX)
note: maybe some extra cardboard on the 4 sides of the box to prevent it wearing all the way through the box. both boxes had similar wear.
