O.t.: Wrx - 1 / Srt4 - 0
 

Last night (approx: 1140 pm) I came accross a new yellow Neon SRT4 approaching Vallejo on hwy 80. He started to stare at me and so, I waved at him. His response: he gave me the finger???

I exited at Springs rd. (Vallejo) and he followed. At the first intersection/ stop light, he started to rev at me. I lowered my window and asked him what his problem was. He said your WRX is S%#T! And the Neon is the new king ???? Weird. I told him if he wasn't s%#t and go home. I then said ," follow me on Lake Herman Rd. if you can." He gave a puzzled look, and said " I'll win on whatever road we race on!" I said o.k. , follow me.

Well, he did follow for a little bit, but i noticed that his head lights were not following me anymore. I waited for 5 minutes and still no sign of the SRT. I doubled back, and noticed that he went off road!! ( I guess he trying to show me that the Neon could double as a rally car!)

I asked him if he needed some help, and he said F#$K you!

Weird, but funny at the same time. Young Filipino kid, about 16-17 years old, and it was brand new SRT Neon.

What's up with these new guys???

whats up with these guys. Last week some guy in a neon srt4 was calling me out and a supercharged maxima. I showed up, but he took off before I got there. :confused:

Broken Arrow, had it been me, I would have whipped that punk's arse. There is no excuse for him to act like that. I am not convinced that the SRT-4 is anything.

Calvin,

It is a 2.4 DOHC turbo. From what I understand, they have it setup to where you can't even put a boost controller on the thing!

I hear from the exhaust manifolds to the turbo, it's one peice!

so, headers+upipe is a one piece design...

now, if 300hp, and 300 lbs of tq. is all they going to muster, then I really don't see the point. It would be a fast car, but hardly drivable at the limits, as we've found out.

I'd guess that it's the thumbs down smack talk from WRX messaging boards. I saw at least a couple of threads on i-Club in General. It just went on and on, bashing Neons, Dodge, front-wheel drive, etc. Man, I started to feel sorry for Neon owners who were branded as stupid or jerks for buying [i]their[/i] car with [i]their[/i] money. The SRT-4 may not be my choice for a performance car, but it doesn't bother me in the least if someone else wants to be driving one.

Consequently, if an SRT-4 owner feels persecuted by rex owners they've never met, maybe they need some quality anger management counseling. No need to start a manufacturer blood feud over it.

You did the honorable thing by asking the guy if he needed assistance. It's on him if he couldn't swallow his pride enough to accept your help.

They're just cars, for pete's sake. :)
