Impreza WRX / Audi A6 2.7T
Well i was going to Dorney Park with my cousin, we was cruisin on the I-78, all of a sudden this WRX Wagon speeds by and starts cutting in and out lanes... so my cousin decides lets open out his A6 so we gradually get to the WRX, he sees us commin behind and he goes for it....my cousin goes for it as well, well I was so disappointed at the WRX's performance as my cousins A6 walked him so bad.... then we let the guy catch up he wants to do it again this time they both had open lanes (WRX and my cousin) cousin walks him again bad by like 5 car lengths if not more...the thing about it was he was such a sore looser, well I can tell you this WRX is no match for an A6/S4 (same engine). Granted the WRX is quick I did see bursts of speed from it but my cousins A6 romped all over the WRX. Sucks cause I want a WRX..

lionken - point is WRX got beat.
Cabal - my cousins audi doesnt live in the shop.
thing is WRX owners I find have a big ego... and when the car gets beat all of a sudden its about more expensive this and that, and you look the STi to beat the EVO 7 which pushes 271hp from a 2.0L like the EJ20. I myself want a WRX I just though for all the hype of the WRX, the car would have put up a better fight being that the A6 is heavier. Shows you how bias this board is

No replacement for displacement... (should I kick myself for saying that.) but its true. The A6 simply has more room to generate power. Its a faster car...
So your point is that its faster. Neato, I think most people knew that, we don't seem to concerned though. Not everything is about highway speed... lets see that A6 wagon slide a bermed, gravly corner at 60+ or burn down a Maine backroad during the winter at high speed. Wrx = advantage in these cases... and thats what it was made for.

Do you know if that WRX was an auto or a stick??. I have a few mods to my suby but keep it basically stock on the outside. My best 1/4 ET is 13.66 with a 2.08 60ft. time which is lousy. I had a big smile on my face last week when I raced a Jet Black 96 Corvette on the TollRoad and was able to pull away from him all the way past 120MPH. My car is totally reliable and I like to surprise people. Its up to you, but there are many go fast parts for WRX's. Good luck in your decision.

Cabal - apparently WRX's is the best car in the whole world to you
subaru16valve - dunno about the snowy roads in maine but my cousin did do about 70+ on turns in NYC in the rain, A6 held up very nicely
wrxraybrand - i dont know if it was auto or stick. and you have been good about the thread not like other people. i still want a WRX cause its what I can probaly afford brand new after gettin engaged..
awns729 - nope it was definitely a WRX thats the whole reason of us runnin him...i wouldnt let my cousin run a 2.5RS LOL. A6 I believe is somewhere in the 3600lbs range but dont quote me on that... its an educated guess My dads 2k3 Maxima is about 3500 and thier almost identical in size...

i checked the ratings its about 250hp/torque and 37-900 lbs depending on tranny....im too lazy to do the math but i think the rex woulda won... 227 hp 217 torque and 3085 lbs....so if im right...the wrx has a better power to weight ratio...but either it was an auto or ur cuz is a better driver....maybe both....whatever but the wrx and a6 are 2 different cars...the rex is pure performance...the a6 is comfort and performance...and more money :-)

My point exactly awns729, I know the WRX is performance, and the A6 is luxury. Thats why I was shocked as he walked the WRX. Dont get me wrong I saw this WRX move and im like whoa... that car has some ***** on it...I want a WRX myself and I stated that in almost every post but members here seem to think im bashing on the WRX...But cheers to you for being level headed unlike the few members on this board...
