TXS stage4, any thoughts???????
i've had the WRX now for 2 1/2 months, as soon as my 03' has 20,000 on the odometer it's getting a TurboXS stage 4 kit. UTEC, large TMI, big fuel pump, STI injectors, VF30, turbo back exhaust, and up-pipe. i'm completely capable of bolting this stuff on and setting it set up correctly......but is there gonna be any tuning that needs to be done afterwards.......if so........who should i have do it. i'm in the northern NJ area........and i don't mind driving a few hours for a good tuner. but i'm not sure who has a dyno and i don't know who to trust.
thanks guys. later, riggs

i have the old run one piece vishnu. i like the 321 stainless on it. unfortunately mine leaks, as it is an older unrevised edition.
personally, i would stay away from those ones with flex joints, those are just bound to have problems and/or not work right.
if you check nasioc they ahve posts about the "ultimate" aps one, which has been having some crafting defects.

thanks a lot........yeah.......i plan on staying away from flex joints...if the pipe is made correctly there is no reason to buy a flex joint pipe. is the TXS catless uppipe a flex joint type???? and do you have any advice on tuners. doesn't TurboXS tune??? are they any good?????

TurboXS tunes.....but the wait is usually quite long..ive heard they are booked all of this summer
AWE Tuning down in i think Willow Grove plays with UTECS....AWD has an onsite awd dyno
ILP Performance out in Nazareth also will play with UTECS, but they dont really like them much nor do they have an onsite AWD Dyno
Find em all tho and call em up..see what they can do for ya!

check out www.pruvenperformance.com they are located in milford, CT.....that might be farther than you want to drive tho.
i just had my UTEC tuned there this past weekend(5/31/03). they were shorthanded and it took a while but they get a HUGE THUMBSUP from me. nice guys, knowledgeable and they made my car run a max of 242HP for the day although we tuned it down a touch cuz the timing wasn't right and i ended the day with 227hp and 238tq. not too shabby and my WRX just turned 4,000 miles old on 6/2/02

There is a shop in Ohio that is called Passivan Motorsports. The will tune it for you. They are very good. Although they convert your car to a rear wheel drive because they don't have an all wheel drive dyno. It costs 180 to make it rear wheel drive. I don't know how much to tune it. It also takes 3 hours to make it rear wheel drive and anouther 3 to put it back together so plan on being there most of the day.

i cant wait to go get it tuned, im thinking about going to turbo xs, i figured they designed it, they gotta knw what they are doin right? Now I am running TXS UTEC Stage 4 w/ FMIC map, HKS uppipe, downpipe, carbon titanium catback, AEM "formerly known as cold air/converted to short ram intake", HKS SSQV BOV, GReddy FMIC, Walbro fuel pump, STI 550cc injectors, VF30 turbo(although i want a 34...:O) ) before i added the intercooler i got knock when i was in the higher rpm's, after the front mount she's runnin like a champ now, with aboslutely no sign of knocl(at least up to 140 mph)
i called turbo XS like a month ago and they told me they didnt have anything til august...think with my mods @ 17.5 psi ill hit 300 WHP?
i hope so, or i got more work to do...later all

Yeah Rallispec definatly, they are Ecutek(tuning) my car in two weeks also i"m pretty amped about it! I'm also getting an STI V7. intercooler and some other goodies. stock turbo though.
As for the Stg.4 question, I have seen a few dyno with just the stg. 4 parts and they usually dyno between 250-270WHP depending on weather and state of tune etc.
Another place to get your car tuned with an UTEC would be BM Tranny in NJ, they have AWD dynojet also. Although they are DSM specialists, they have dyno'd enough wrx's to know what they are doing. They are familiar with the Utec subsiquently..
