?'s about Wilkie Subaru
?'s about Wilkie Subaru
Just wondering if anybody in the Philly area has dealt with Wilkie Subaru on N. Broad St? If so, how was your experience? Anybody have any other dealer recommendations in that area?

Hey I bought my rex last year from them and I live in jersey. They saved me two thousand with a internet deal they were doing. Martin wouldn't match them. I only used there service dept once and they were better then Martin's too. Can't remember my dealers name but he was real nice, he's the head subaru person there, I would ask for him.
Thanks for the reply. I'm getting a preorder 04 with the internet manager but I just wanted to make sure the dealership philosophy/customer service wasn't shady since I don't know anything about them. Just out of curiousity, why did you get your ride in PA instead of NJ?
Anybody else have deal with these guys (good or bad)?

I stopped by there on the way back from the airport a few weeks ago to grab an air filter, some wiper blades, and an oil filter. Seemed like a nice place. Not subie-exclusive, though, if you care about that. The guy in parts had to look up the part number for the Air filter, and didn't know that the WRX had the 2.0 liter engine instead of the 2.5. (I'm sure having the STI around is going to throw them a real curve)
That being said, they did seem really nice. the price on the parts was a little below what i've paid elsewhere. They have some sort of shuttle service too... not too bad, all in all.
i've been to armen subaru (on ridge pike) and Rafferty (on rt. 3) for parts/service at one time or another. Armen is a real complicated and disorganized place, and way too big. Parts department was a ***** to find, and closes early. Rafferty is nice enough, but it's in the middle of nowhere, and everything costs a little more, since they're subaru-specific. The service guys are great, and i have a friend who had excellent body repair work done there. Really, absolutely incredible. A golf cart slid down a muddy hill and totally ruined the rear passenger door of his parked WRX sedan, as well as screwing up part of the rear quarterpanel, and front passenger door. His car looks new now, and no complaints in the 3 months since it was done.
The biggest problem with rafferty is that because it's in the middle of nowhere, you're stuck there. No shuttles, no loaners. They do offer car rental, but who the heck wants to pay for it... They also see a ton of business, so it's sometimes hard to get an appt. in service. I'm not sure about the sales people there. i suspect you'll do better elsewhere.
hope all that helps. good luck!

I highly recommend Wilkies Subaru!
I bought my '03 Impreza 2.5 RS in January 2003 at Wilkies and then purchased my '03 Legacy SE Wagon at the begining of March 2003 from them also. That should give you some indication on how satisfied I am with them! Go see Walter Treiman, who is the Subaru salesman there. He is very professional and easy to negotiate with, without that traditional car salesman BullSh*t!
Although, I haven't used the service department much yet, they seem relatively organized and have helped me out a great deal, so far!
Drive safe,

Scott,
Good to hear such good things about them. Funny thing is, Walt is the guy I've been working with and he has been pleasant to work with up to this point. I like his no BS style. Just gives it to you as it is. Anyways, thanks for the input and piece of mind.

I think going there is an excellent idea! i put my pre-order there and i'm from south jersey. i know the owner of the dealership through his daughter and he is an excellent guy to talk to. they are professionals with no BS like mentioned above, and i think i had the same sales associate the first day i stopped in. they are very easy to work with from what i could tell. i really didn't much business with the associate. i usually go through the owner directly. anyway, wilkies is a great choice!
