Question about an installer
I had a CF hood with a STI scoop and STI grill installed. They also painted my grill, side skirts and the STI scoop.
This was done in the late summer, August I think I have to look at the receipt. Here is what happened. I thought a family member was going to pick up the stock pieces, since they have a SUV, (they never did pick up the pieces), I went to the storage place and found out they never got the stock pieces. I call Lodi Auto Body (where I had the work done) and explain that there was a miscommunication with a family member and that I want to come and get my stock items. He tells me that he had to throw out $25,000 worth of parts that people did not pick up because he was having the store remodeled. (Why throw it out? He must have known the value of a brand new hood?)
I am confused as to how he can say that he wrapped it all up the hood/scoop/grill for me and not take a few extra seconds to call me and say why didn’t you pick it up. If you have ever wrapped a hood in that huge box you know it take a few moments to say the least. I guess my concern is that I was just lied to about how he held it for so long and might have sold it a few weeks after the install.
Does that sound crazy?
Should I see when it was remodeled?
I am not sure when he remodeled the store it could have been Early September or it could have just finished last week. I know he is not responsible to hold my stuff forever but I wish I had gotten a phone call…Well thanks for listening to my rant…if nothing more at least I learned a lesson, always double check…

well your right in many ways ..he shouldnt have to hold on to your parts. hes not running a storage bin. BUT at the same time good work ethic would of been to try to at least contact the owners for pick up. if you think you can find out if he sold the stuff, or didnt get a remoldel done at the time he said he did. then you you may have a case. Him saying "i threw out about 25$ of stuff" shows he knew the worth of it. To do it would make him an ***. in two ways actually. *** 1 would be to throw out customers items to maybe have to deal with customers not ever returning for buisness. *** 2 throwing out customers items taking the risk of loseing customers, AND not have sold the stuff to make some extra side cash.. (*** 2 being illegal and not recomending it).
so the qs. you have to ask yourself is. what kinda *** is this guy.
call some local junk yard asking if they have a wrx hood for you. if they do thats good indecation that he sold the stuff. or gave it to someone that is going to sell it.
or just forget it all.

Thanks for the reply...I see it as this, how many other MNB WRX's had their side skirts painted a cf hood installed and a scoop and grill painted. He must keep records and files of the work he does, but I have really gotten over it, how long can a person this shady stay in business.
