My car got OWN3D...

I was driving down Laurel Ave. towards Rte 35 in Holmdel around 10PM tonight and a rather large deer came at my driver's side at a 50-70 degree angle from the side.... My girlfriend looked over and screamed...I braked...then [WACK] [CRACK] [BOOM].
....It smacked along my door.. slammed into the driver's side fender and hit the ground after spinning 360 degrees! I stopped, got out of the car to see if it was OK, and it immediately got up and stumbled into the woods.
An officer came down, looked for the deer for 15 minutes and found nothing...He wrote the report, all the while telling me about his run in's with deer in the past..and the dangers of "rutting season." He was more like the narrator of 'Wild Kingdom' than a police officer..
Well... my driver's side front door has significant dents (though the window works perfectly), The fender and indicator lens is crushed, and my alignment is out of wack. From what I could see, the hood was fine except for a small dent at the edge. The frame seems unaffected, and the front bumper looks undamaged. What sucks is...
I have $1500 deductible...
Going for estimates at three local shops...I hope they keep the $$ low... Wish me luck!
Sad... I hope that poor thing is OK, or at least died quickly and with little pain...

At the shop today I noticed that the low beam on my driver's side Morette wasn't working. I removed the lights and swapped in the stockers. I think there's a problem with that large grouping of wires that runs into the interior of the car running along the inside of the fender...
On the driver's side..where the impact was...the high beam does NOT work, and the low beam is emitting only a little bit of light. It looks as like I have one passenger side white bulb...and a driver's side brown-orange bulb (kinda like when the batteries are dying in a flashlight). What's wierd is that the driver's side signal, parking light, and side marker works fine---and emit the proper amount of light!
I got an estimate for $2G's incl. work on the hood, new fender, door, sidemarker lens, labor, paint, etc. I know its a lot, but the guy does really good work and has a blue WRX (which he did $8000 damage to last year---& fixed perfectly) himself.
But now...with an electrical problem like this... I can only imagine how much more its gonna cost to fix... :sigh:

And due to my ridiculous deductible (the only way I can afford my insurance :sigh: ) I'm going to pay this work myself. The last thing I need right now is for my insurance company to raise my rates.
