Here's the deal. I plan on learning how to ride a motorcycle on my uncle's bikes, BUT I also drag race all the time and I want to start AutoX. So the questions are... do I need to get separate helmets for all 3? What certifications does each helmet need for each event (Snell xx, DoT)?? Is there a helmet I can buy that will encompass bike, autox, and drag? Thanks a lot guys.

i think that motorcycle helmets are legal for Auto-X if they carry a Snell 95/97(?) rating, but i'm not sure about drag racing. the classifications for Motorcycle and autoracing are differant, because motorcycle helmets are designed primarily to withstand one impact, where as car racing helmets are designed for multiple impact protection.

i'd imagine it would also depend upon the level of competition. local grassroots drag racing will probably have significantly less stringent requirements than serious competative dragracing (all the big pro tours).
