does anyone know how to change the springs on a sedan? i got the eibach pro-kit. I should be getting them around thursday. i want to put them on myself but im not sure how to do it,so is there any one in the dallas area than can help me out?

i've changed the struts/springs with a coil-over unit, but i didn't pull apart the stock struts to change those springs. I'm pretty sure the factory manuals detail pulling the strut/springs apart once you get the struts out of the car.

 

springs are easy...you wont even need a spring compressor just have two guys put their weight on the top mount and pop the nut off. if you still dont have it done by spring break Ill be down from NY and help you out.

dude, spring compressors don't cost much (and places like autozone typically rent them for like 10 bucks a day.) I think the Craftsman spring compressors are something like $20. It's just a couple pieces of metal and a long bolt, really.

Do keep in mind that springs hold a LOT of tension and you probably don't want that tension surprising your "buddy" when you unbolt the end caps.

I work in a shop and we have a wall mounted spring compressor. Just call me and I can tell you how much. Just take the struts off of the car bring them and the springs over and I'll swap them out. You will need an alignment after you remove/replace the struts. I can do that also. 972-780-2501. Duncanville Ask for Dwight. I have to disagree about the tension...(RS suspension in new body style is the same as WRX right?) personally ive done a honda spring swap and that pressure was ridiculous which needed a spring compressor and an RS swap with an air wrench and two guys leaning on the strut mount. no problems with surprises...

i got my springs on i did use a spring compressor but you dont really need one. rohde thanks for offering to help me out. the wrx suspension is a little diffrent from the 2.5 RS the wrx is a little bit stiffer. my parents are in L.A. right now but when they get back i will put a pic on here.
