Let's see how many folks can think for themselves. BTW, the story and pic have since been pulled.

Just another one the the media's pawns: http://www.littlegreenfootballs.com/...26666&only&rss

Considering the magnifying glass over that entire region, maybe troops have to throw bullets now instead of fire them?

Looks to me like someone probably has an AK around somewhere. Those look to short and fat to be 5.56.

The neck looks too long to me but it's tough to tell. I think I'd be a little more alarmed if they were 5.56 rounds. First off, where the hell did she get them. 5.56 rounds are pretty unheard of for Iraqis to just "have". Almost everything is AK 7.62.

At first glance the first thing that popped into my was .243 Win. They look like that very much, don't they? So they most likely are 556mm it's just that the woman's handsize is throwing-off how they appear.

Reminds me of the Baz Luhrmann Romeo and Juliet movie posters where whole pistol rounds appear to be cutting the poster, case and all.

Funny stuff. Those def. look like 5.56 though.

You'd be surprised at how many people think the entire cartridge is the projectile. I've encountered a few people over the years. Their level of knowledge in physics stopped with old roadrunner cartoons.

C'mon Eric - the primer is a mini rocket engine which propels the entire cartridge.
