But I do think he made a stupid mistake here. Does anyone know if he had at least a motorcycle permit?

Nope. Evidently he "didn't think about applying" for one when he immigrated.

lol, I think I'll buy a motorcycle, but not get the right stuff to ride it.

Oh well, at least he didn't kill someone or break a limb.

Oops, according to california law adding a side car means you don't need a m1 endorsement.

I doubt that he has always rode the motorcycle with the sidecar but in this instance it may not be illegal. Sounds like there is some sort of fight going on as to whether it is illegal or not. I don't really know anything about california law so I cannot say really. I think in Michigan you need your Motorcycle endorsement even with a sidecar.

You get a fix-it ticket... I got one once when riding because I didn't have my wallet with me.

If he had killed someone, that's just negligent, and he'd be wide open for a monetary raping. He's had two accidents now, probably because he doesn't have adequate skill. On a motorcycle, you use the front brake primarily and the rear brake does very little.

When I was a dumb teenager I tried stopping late for a red light but skid all the way accross an intersection because I was using the rear brake only. I'd be willing to bet he's only using the rear brake.

Intuitively, you'd think that nailing the front brake would cause you to crash, but you can actually do a "stoppie" and stand the bike on the front wheel... only locking it up will cause you to crash and go boom.

Fix it ticket? For NEVER having had an American motorcycle license? I hope it's more than that.

Class C: You may operate a motorcycle with a sidecar attached, a three wheel motorcycle or a motorized scooter.

He probably had no idea he was legal, but when your rich and powerful you let your lawyers worry about the details.
