Fallujah Delenda Est.

NEAR FALLUJAH, Iraq - More than 10,000 U.S. soldiers and Marines have taken positions around Fallujah for an expected assault, as U.S. jets pummeled insurgent targets Friday and troops blocked key roads. Iraq (news - web sites)'s prime minister warned the "window is closing" to avert an offensive.

God bless 'em, good luck. To both our soldiers and any Iraqi people who didn't get out of town.

I've seen ~80yr old men run the 2001 Marine Corps Marathon so they could surely point a rifle and pull the trigger.

The bottom line is that you can't take anymore chance on letting any insurgents -or- known members of terrorist cells get away through a loose border. That's how this problem started... we had inadequate security on the borders of Iraq that led to the migration of terrorists into Fallujah.

I suppose you'd let them leave right, Unregistered?! It honestly seems like you're Fallujah sympathizer when this city is known for it's extremely hostile population. Why is that?

Sorry to break it to you but by taking out one city is not going to change the landscape of whats going on. Also your killing fathers and grandfathers, because Im sure not everyone above 45 years old is a insurgents. So killing the innocent. Good job create more hate.

And don't be stupid with your comments. Im sure im supporting the Iraqies to kill more US troops, yep thats me. Don't act like a moron.

Some of you seem incapable of even considering.....

How would you feel if a foreign army tried to "liberate" the town you live in?

We have done everything we set out to do in Iraq-
We took Hussein out of power
We found they didn't have any WMD.

We committed war crimes in acheiving those goals, so why stop now?

I like how you can speak for all of Iraq. I wish I had that magic meter-o-public-opinion that guages instantly the will of entire nations. I'd be the greatest politician ever.

But seriously, Fallujah and the Sunni triangle are where virtually all of the violence is happening, and for good reason: They hate the Shi'ite population, and the U.S. in setting up a democratic government will (and already has) give the Shi'ite a voice. The Sunni also happen to be closer to Bin Laden in ideology, which is why Zarqawi and pals are doing what they're doing. Smashing Fallujah and capturing the leaders of the Sunni terror cells could change a whole lot.

Oh so the international media is just biased and so are most of our media that say's that they do not see us as liberaters? Yep you have the magic-ignore-everyone who has a different oppinion than you. Oh and you know they are all over Iraq? It isn't just isolated to one or two areas.

Are you seriously doubting that the international media have an anti-american bias? I sure hope not.

The media isn't lying, but it is only reporting casualties. You don't see any stories about Marines smashing an enemy position, or capturing some terrorists, etc. And it's not because it doesn't happen. It's because the media focuses on casualties, ieJessica Lynch types, more than it does on Audie Murphey types.

As for the spread of the violence, yes...it's mainly in the Sunni areas. The Shi'ite are starting to fall in quite nicely, ever since the Al Sadr faction was pacified.
