Socialist Republic of San Francisco, Ka

Looks like they want to flush the 2nd amendment entirely...

http://www.newsday.com/news/nationwo...tion-headlines

SAN FRANCISCO -- City residents will vote next year on a proposed weapons ban that would deny handguns to everyone except law enforcement officers, members of the military and security guards.

If passed next November, residents would have 90 days to give up firearms they keep in their homes or businesses. The proposal was immediately dismissed as illegal by a gun owners group.

Funny how the nations capitol already 'flushed the second amendment'...
I don't think this will happen for real anyway.

D.C. is the most liberal/socialist part of the nation with San Francisco at a close second. What makes you think this won't happen

I think it's hard to pass a law that is in almost perfect opposition to an amendment of the constitution. And I think some liberal people like guns, and feel that they can protect themselves/their families by owning one. We'll see though...

Wow. I'm not too surprised. But CA as a whole has a lot of unconstitutional gun laws already.

I say about gun confiscation what I say about imminent domain. I'll smile politely when they come, while pointing a pistol in their faces.

All you Socialists that support gun control should ponder this:

The same government that had no problem with me protecting this country with a machine gun has a big problem with me protecting my family with a pistol.

What happened to "Congress shall pass....no ex post facto law." If they would have to give up guns, wouldn't that constitute an ex post facto law?

deyes has a good point.

How in the hell are they going to get the weapons if it came to that? The only type of weapons that must be registered with the dept of alcohol and firearms are assault weapons. Every other weapon is pretty damn hard to trace contrary to what CSI has you believe.

If they gave a decent dollar for the weapons I can see some people giving up the old, rusted .22 in the closet but not the chrome .45 ballers in the drawer.

Good point from the article:

"If gun control worked, Washington, D.C., would be the beacon. However, it's the murder capital of the United States," he said.
