i've been through those tunnels a few times. thats some pretty crazy s*** . i went to the science museum and saw the big dig exhibit too. you would think such a big job would be organized and put together with quality materials and craftsmanship. did the job go to the lowest bidder or something? i bet boston is a zoo tryin to get around

The Big Dig is the poster child for classic gov't incompetence.

It has everything: gov't incompetence, mob ties, bribes, etc.

I used to live on Cape Cod. Every time we go back out to visit people, it seems like they haven't gotten any further on the Big Dig. Is it supposed to be finished now? I haven't been out in three or four years.

Any time they have to come up with a cute name to convince taxpayers that something is a good idea, watch out. Here in Colorado we have "T-Rex"...the benefit there is that it's taking so long to finish it I won't remember if traffic was better or worse before they started.

Welcome Father Goose . Where in CO are you at? I'm in Lakewood (though I was in the USVI's ala-my-location for a while), and its always nice to see more i-club suby members.

T-rex is a mess though, however it really is beautifying that corridor. And the mass transit being installed I think is really going to help things out. The big dig however, is as Paul said is the poster child of government incompetence. The government can do great things with roads - see Colorado's Glenwood Canyon - or it can do terrible things. Just luck of the draw really.
Cheers
-Jeff
