My Political Views
I am a center-right moderate social libertarian
Right: 1.55, Libertarian: 3.22
About right. Some of those questions needed a situation to really agree or disagree.

I really don't like the way some of the questions are phrased on this test; I prefer The Political Compass, but it's like 6 pages of questions.
Anyway, I took the test, but I disagree with the result and the description of it:
My Political Views
I am a left social libertarian
Left: 5.77, Libertarian: 8.28
My Foreign Policy Views
Score: -7.11
My Culture War Stance
Score: -6.62
Example of a question I didn't like:
I strongly disagree with that statement because I don't believe in moral relativism or turning a blind eye to oppression and tyranny -- but if I choose "Disagree Strongly" the test interprets that as me being interventionist and conservative when the truth is that I don't believe "condemning" = "take action."
Or:
If I choose the answer for my belief, which is that I "Agree strongly," the test marks that as a +right +authoritarian, when in fact the reason I agree the state has no business regulating those industries is because I don't believe there should be "a state," which actually brands me as an anarchist, which is extreme left.
How about:
I chose "Agree strongly" because it is widely accepted that the reason the lending industry collapsed is because they weren't regulated and could do whatever they wanted -- but if I choose "Agree strongly" it takes that to mean that I feel there should be more regulation (+left) and more government (+authoritarian), neither of which I believe.
Here's another:
I don't believe that anyone should be given help by the state to get "equal footing," not because I don't believe that everyone should have equal opportunity, but because I don't believe it is the responsibility of the state to provide that. But if I choose "Disagree strongly," the test brands me as +right +authoritarian, which is again, inaccurate.
The flaw in these kind of short tests is that they ask the questions but don't ask enough of them to sort out why you answered a particular way.
Another:
I do believe that access to health care is a right because I don't believe that anyone should be denied health care because of preexisting condition or economic problems -- but that doesn't mean that I think health care is a right, which is what this test actually means.
Unions were indispensable in establishing the middle class, it's a basic part of the labor history that I was taught. So if I agree with history as it was taught to me, the test automatically brands that as a point in a particular direction for judging my political stance?
Anyway, I took the test, but I disagree with the result and the description of it:
My Political Views
I am a left social libertarian
Left: 5.77, Libertarian: 8.28
My Foreign Policy Views
Score: -7.11
My Culture War Stance
Score: -6.62
Example of a question I didn't like:
44. It is not our place to condemn other cultures as backwards or barbaric.
Or:
37. The state has no business regulating alcohol and tobacco products.
How about:
34. Tighter regulation would have prevented the collapse of the lending industry.
Here's another:
32. Minority groups that have faced discrimination should receive help from the state to get on an equal footing.
The flaw in these kind of short tests is that they ask the questions but don't ask enough of them to sort out why you answered a particular way.
Another:
6. Access to healthcare is a right.
2. Unions were indispensible in establishing the middle class.

And you're right, this kind of quiz is not designed for people with beliefs like mine.
Like it asked about the death penalty. I chose that I disagreed strongly with the death penalty, which I'm sure it marked as a +bleedingheartliberal when the truth is that I'm against the death penalty because I don't think any government should have the the power and control to put its own citizens to death. To me, it's not about the morality of putting someone to death, it's about the power of government -- something the test does not take into account.
