I was waiting for that criticism...it does make sense in a way though. The working class is, according to the media, why Jr won his second term. And many, many of the working class people are in labor unions. I don't have any proof, so this is speculation, but I would bet that greater than 50% of labor union members are registered and vote republican.

None of the people that I know (and I do mean none) that are in a Union are Republican. I worked in a factory in CO where there was no union. Very few of the thousand or so people that worked there were interested in the union and as far as I could tell most were conservatives. I think that in most cases conservatives believe that unions have outlived their usefulness.

Conservatives IMO are generally opposed to Labor Unions because they hurt local and foreign competitiveness. As an example, union painters are not allowed to be efficient and use sprayers in many situations, rather they will take their time and use a medium size paint brush. To top it off, they get $80k a year to do it! That's just one example, and I'd love to hear more.

It's not as if we don't have enough trouble competing on a global scale in manufacturing and other U.S. products. Add unions and there's no chance we can compete.

American workers knew Kerry was lying when he promised more jobs, higher wages, and a reach-around.
