Seeing how Apple is very, very anti-war I would LOVE to see them scoop this story-up and ship thousands of Ipods to the front lines as armor seeing how our govt has been half-assed in providing.

im surprised that soldiers are allowed to use ipods.....i thought you would have to have all of your senses available to you at all times.....although he was very lucky to have one on him...

You haven't lived until you blar AC/DC "Highway to Hell" rolling down Haifa Street or Route Irish. On a side note about being distracted, it's tough. Keeping guys awake on an 18 hour patrol when it's 120 degrees out and slowing down is tough enough. A good leader can find a mix of keeping his troops happy and effective at the same time. Pat knows what I mean since he's a CO.

No way that was from an AK. Maybe a pistol round,...no way a rifle bullet. I have to call B.S. on this one.....Bruce, if you're out there please chime in on this one...

It's very likely that that the round was 7.62. It's not like insurgents have access to a barrage of other calibers. Besides, the Ipod took the initial hit.... it did not slow the bullet or else we might of seen more damage on the back side. The body armor is what saved him.
