The march was for God, our country's routes, and to be careful of our government.

God, well the US was created when people left for freedom. So he supports that, he wants us to see our own family and friends and be thankful for our country that this was ours. The government is FOR the people, but right now it looks like it's CONTROLLING the people.

And the whole muslim thing isn't the right assumption... Muslim gets a bad rap... it's crazy radical islamists that makes the generalization that Muslim is a bad thing.

I think he got nationalism and patriotism confused. And also unless you stormed the beaches of Normandy, held the line at Gettysburg or shot at some red coats in the 18th century. The role of the military has little been little more then serving the wishes of corporate sponsored politicians.

 

If you are a veteran, don't ever discount your time and service. You've done more than most will ever do.

If your not a veteran, don't ever discount a veterans time and service they've done more than most.

FWIW = We spent very little time worrying about politics. There's a lot to do.

 

Where I was, I knew was there so America could have cheap oil. I also don't discount my time and service. I quite enjoyed many of the moments, including the year of carrying caskets and talking to widows. It paid for 3 of my 4 years of school. I just hate the rhetoric of saying I served for "freedom and to defend the Constitution" that so many other vets like to go with.

 

Is it rhetoric? You served yourself in other words. Believe it or not there are still places that hold god, country, and family above all others.

You should reconsider your service. You should be proud.

 

Not everyone sees combat. Hell when I asked my grandpa about WW2, he was in the Army, and had a pictrue of him surrounded by munitions. He goes "I didn't do anything special just made bombs in Louisiana". Not EVERYONE is drinking the GI Joe kool-aid from their leftover MRE's.
