I s anyone watching "The War"?

http://www.pbs.org/thewar/

Is anyone besides me watching the Ken Burns documentary: "The War"?

Ken is arguably the best documentation of all time.
No matter what you would like to believe about Michael Moore. The man (said loosely) is a propagandist, not a journalist or a documentarian).

I brought it up in another forum, which happened to contain degenerates, mouth breathers, those who don't know any better and attention ******. aka: what the sac forum has become.

So I know some would say this is the forum of "name callers" but I, and everyone who posts here realizes that this is America, we may disagree, but at the end of the day, we make a difference. Weather we are conservative, progressive or libertarian. We are the ones that vote, and as much as we disagree, we are all here for the same reason... our opinions need to be heard.

I caught the first two episodes last weekend, and I found it to be quite good.

I watched it start to finish. It was tough to watch at times but what a great show. Every American should have to watch it, especially the ungrateful bastards who disrespect the sacrifices of our soldiers while they enjoy the freedoms they provide.

I have been glued to the set watching this excellent documentary. It is sad at times but it is a story that still must be told. My Grand-Father was in the Battle of the Bulge and sometimes I wonder to myself if he didn't make it out of the bulge I wouldnt be here.

Both of my grandpas were in the war, so I completely sympathize with you. It is a story that needs to be told.

with the 24 hour media, E-true Hollywood stories, vh1 and MTV, it seems that many of us have forgotten what really happened.

I'm not ashamed to admit that stuff tears me up. 4th of July was always a great holiday for me but now it's something I have to do alone. Ever since I deployed the sight of fireworks on the 4th brings me to tears. Nothing wrong with loving your country.

My wife won't watch it with me because she says it's "too depressing" even thought her grandparents were involved as well.

It's sad that more youths tune in to see Paris hiltonns sex tapes, brittany's pantiless crotch, owen wilsons rehab story or jessica alba's new movie (I can't blame anyone for the latter) But where have American priorities gone?... Down the pooper for the most part. Why can't we grow some ballz.

Yeah, that mini series is amazingly good. It's a bit of a tradition to watch BofB every year just before the holiday season. It kinda puts you in check just in time for the material obsessions the Holiday seasons start to bring and reminds you that the true reason to enjoy the holiday season is friends/family.

Hoaky, I know, but I've seriously watched the series like this since the box set DVDs came out like 5 years ago.
