It is revealing. I heard Al Franken saying how Democracy has backfired on Bush, but isn't it a good thing to know the Palestinians side with the cold blooded killers? This is great because now the world knows where the Palestinian people stand, and we cannot just blame Palestinian leadership for the haneous crimes they commit.
It's a lot like how the American People stood behind GW and his war-on-terror policies. It was one thing to blame him as a rogue leader during the first 4 years, but his last 4 visibly have the backing of a vast majority of Americans.
The battle lines are drawn. Let's stop holding back Israel and let them fight it out.

Wait...you enjoy seeing that we have more enemies than we did 10 years ago? You like seeing extreamly large groups of people posture themselves against the US? And you have the nerve to accuse liberals of hating America? Fu** off.

Also, his approval ratings are hovering, currently, in the mid 40% range...also not a "vast majority" In fact, arguably a significant minority.

When your PC liberal buddies told you that the Palestinians are peace-loving, now you know they've been conning you, don't be mad at me for your ignorance.
Trying to pretend that peace could be bought with land is a liberal policy that will only cost additional lives... thanks a bunch!
try again.

Not to mention that, like I said, you get way too much satisfaction and enjoyment out of people in other countries essentially declaring terror wars on the US...
Yes, Hamas has been around for a while and has always hated us. But they hadn't convinced the majority that their viewpoint of us was right until very recently, when our international relations (especially in their area of the world) has caused them to fear us and therefore beleive the rhetoric that hamas tells them.

That should be tempered with another U.S. election (clinton perhaps), and compared to the palestinian percentages.
And as you know, approval rating cannot be applied to one single issue....

Good point. We really can't know the extent of hamas before vs after the war on terror and the war in Iraq.
Regardless, it's not a good thing for us that so many people there support hamas...and it doesn't show that all Palastineans hate America either.

I love how Bush says we won't talk with terrorists, when it is a democratically elected government. Even if they may have America and Isreal, they were elected by the palestinian people in the way that we ourselves vote. Women were allowed in the vote, and there seems to be only a few reports of corruption so what is the big deal? That they were/are (we are yet to see) a terrorist orginazation? He does realize that the palisitnian authority was also a terrorist orginization (PLO), and that we have been negotiating with "terrorists" for the last bunch of years?
However, I do find this quite alarming considering our situation in Iraq right now. Many people say that democracy is good for Iraq (and I agree), but what are we going to do when a similar group - or those comfy with Iran - come into power legally and create a state closer to that of modern Iran? What are we going to do then? Not negotiate with "terrorists" who we helped rise to power? Attack the country again?

While corrupt, the PA at least showed a modicum amount of effort in realizing peace.
Hamas, on the other hand, is anti-West, anti-Isreal, and was calling for Jihad as late as, oh, today.
Oh, yea, Hamas in charge is like letting the inmates run the prison.
The real irony is that the US supplied the Palestinian Authority weapons.
Now, Hamas has those weapons.
And for the bonus round:
Name the President that gave Hamas those weapons?

Jeff my friend, you are severely misguided. I almost pulled my hair out reading your first paragraph. It seems like you do agree though that a fanatic muslim government would be bad for palastine and the world. But you fail to realize that that's just exactly what Hamas is.
We (US taxpayers) currently give them about 350 million dollars a year, and have undoubtedly contributed to the deaths of over 350 israelis and 40 americans in the past 10 years, most of whom are civilians.
I would hardly call it a democracy though, don't forget that Hitler, the Taliban and Saddam Hussein were all elected as well.
Imo the Gaza pullout greatly contributed to the election of Hamas, like I said in a previous thread: If your enemy thinks you're a pushover, it's only going to cause larger problems.
The Palistinean people saw that they get what they want because Hamas, because of terror, not diplomacy.

You said the 2004 election indicates a "vast majority" supports bush.
I corrected you by stating that only 35% of the US population voted for Bush...not a "vast majority" at all.
I also pointed out that his approval rating is hovering in the 40's...also not a "vast majority" of support.
