God's will?
I came across this and just had to share:
For those buy-bull bangers who insist that god orders all things that happen, I want you to think about something. President Bush claimed that God told him to invade Iraq. (He'll probably say the same thing about Iran.) You all followed right along, cheering, screaming with joy at each fallen Iraqi body shown on the nightly news. Well, where was your God then? Seen any hurricanes strike Iraq? Or Iran? No?
Better think this one through. Bush coveted the oil wealth of Iraq. In order to get that wealth Bush bore false witness to We The People, the Congress, and the world. Bush then stole that wealth, and killed a lot of people in the process. And by claiming that God told him to do all that Bush took the Lord's name in vain, I think. So, he's batting 500 in terms of breaking the Ten Commandments, and all who support him are accessories to the crime.
And what is the result? Did your God deliver a swift and easy victory to George Bush by flinging natural disasters onto the infidel?
No, the natural disasters are hitting the nation that invaded Iraq based on that false witness thing I mentioned before. Hurricane Katrina wrecked our largest seaport, through which America's war machine exports much of its cargoes of death around the globe. Katrina also savaged the oil infrastructure, and oil is the lifeblood of conventional warfare.
Bush's defenders desperately tried to explain away Katrina as God's punishment against the gays or the blacks, but as Rita bears down on those Texas refineries, the message, if there really is one, is clear. The hurricanes are not pointed at gays. The storms are aimed at the United States' capacity to fuel its war machine.
Now for myself, I'm a non-believer, so I see Katrina and Rita as the result of seasonal unstable air meeting inadequate preparations. But for those of you who buy into the God gambit, your own beliefs have to be telling you that Bush lied when he said God was directing his actions, and those costumed molesters holding those collection plates who cheered Bush along, well, they were lying too. They have broken 5 of the 10 commandments. And they have tricked you into breaking them as well. Because you can no longer pretend you don't know something is very wrong, and that Iraq is an unholy war.
So, you are all damned. Damned, damned, damned! Damned to hell. And there can be no redemption while Bush and his war-mongering Neocons are still in office. There is no absolution if you know a war of conquest against an innocent people is going on and you do nothing at all to stop it. The priests cannot forgive your sins if they share those sin. Havong worked so hard to trick you into sin, would they really be eager to get you out?
You're looking at the choice between regular and extra-crispy for all eternity so long as Bush and the Neocons, and indeed everyone who lied to start the war in Iraq remain in power.
Yessirree, regular, or extra-crispy! Kinda sucks, doesn't it?

That little rant was so ridiculously full of bull**** it hurts to even think about it. And why is it that whenever I read liberal garbage I always picture some pimple faced, scrawny, coffeehouse poet that demands attention?
I just further proves how these scum love to bash on Bush for sport. Al Qaeda, radical Muslim clerics and Al Zarqawi insist that Katrina was an act of Allah. They've said it numerous times now. So where this guys rant on that? Oh that's right... he'll gladly side with those guys any day of the week. Never mind that Al Zarqawi raped women in Jordan... let's bash the Texan that used to have a drinking problem instead! Yay!

What is most amusing is the lack of cohesion in the author's rant. It would be one thing if he could string along a decent argument and pull in points to validate his premises, but it is just one big jumble of bullsh!t.
And one thing to point out: Bush does not represent the voice, the face, or the actions of Christianity. I believe in Christ, not Bush.
I, too, side with Salty, that comparing Bush (whom I consider to be a slimy politician) to jihadists is out-right ignorant. If the author of that little article lived in their respective countries, he would get an an AK up his bum.
btw psoper... where do you find this stuff?

Does you even know anyone who thinks weather patterns are acts of god? I can't say I do.

It read to me more like the rant of disillusioned believer than someone comfortable with non-belief. The worst part about this spiteful, insulting stuff is that ruins the image of atheism. The likes of the late Madeleine Murray O'Hare (our writer from bizerkeley) do far more damage than good for the cause of atheism. Just like Jerry Falwell is an embarrassment to most Christians.
1. A hurricane has and will never hit the middle east.
2. We haven't taken any oil from Iraq's reserves.
3. Obviously hurricanes are going to hit the Gulf Coast (oil refinery areas) since that's the only place they hit other than the Atlantic Seawall.
4. This guy is officially off his rocker and eat's way too much KFC.
