Do you need to be governed?

No tricks, just a simple question.

Do you feel that you need to be governed?
If so, why?

It's not so much for me but for everyone as a whole that I feel needs to be governed.

Just like penalties for crimes I would never commit. I'm glad they are there to help prevent a lot of people from doing potentially bad things.

No, I don't think I'd do anything too different from how I do them now. Rest assured long road trips would be significantly shorter but speeding isn't too bad in comparison to mowing down a bus of Catholic school girls with my AR-15.

If we didnt have "government", we wuold only be renaming a different and slightly modified system of a publuic overseer. Honestly, think about eliminating the govt completely. No roads fixed, no regulations intra-state commerce, no long lines at the DMV... hehehe

Seriously though, even in the kibbutz there is a form of govt. Humans can not assemble without some governing order in place.

Agreed. America would break down into thousands of city states and small scale genocide would run rampant. It would be fueled by the social divides that exsist today just without the legal inhabitions (judiciary punishment) that prevent the majority of hatred from being fully expressed.

Absolutely. I, along with many people, would fail to pay our fair share of what it takes to run the nation, financially. Government is absolutely necessary.

Hmmm...not quite what I was looking for...let me try it again.

I for one, am glad that there's a gov't to protect me from those foriegn nations that would like to harm me.
But I asked if you, an individual, needed to be governed.
Do you, as an individual, need to be told what is right or wrong in living your life?

Obviously, there's no right or wrong answer, unless, of course, your answer differs from mine.

Obviously we do. Even with all of our laws and institutions, people are still misbehaving left and right.

I think that I personally would get along fine (though I probably wouldn't pay my taxes, even though I know I should) Other than that, I would most likely never participate in any activity that would hurt another person, but many people would.

That was what I was looking for; that you personally don't need to be governed.

I personally don't need to be governed. I don't see myself acting much differently than I do now. Granted if we had no government I would no doubt have a different occupation. I would more than likely pay less taxes but then again, America would be governing itself so I wouldn't be held resposible for those who decide not to provide for themselves.
