I think the article has some very valid points even though I think the author writes-off Islamic radicalism way too soon. Instead, I think it's more reasonable to suggest a combination of Tribalism and Islam. It's not like Islamic ideology was newly introduced even if though it's not as old as tribalism. Heck, powerful countries and religions have been erected far less time than Islam. Or maybe Islamic ideology in itself is the tribalisitic force in that they're all united against the West?
