Looks like France has to pay the piper too.
This entire situation reeks of ignorance and irony.

France Races Against Clock in Iraq Hostage Crisis
The crisis stunned France, which waged a high-profile campaign to oppose the U.S.-led war in Iraq, and because of this considered itself safe from militant attack. France also opposed the 1990-2003 economic sanctions on Iraq...
...France, due to its position on the war in Iraq, could have hoped it was safe," Le Figaro said. "This was not the case."...
...The militant group, which last week said it had killed Italian journalist Enzo Baldoni, Saturday gave the French government 48 hours to rescind the headscarf ban, without saying what would happen to the two Frenchmen if it failed to comply.

funny i dont see the irony in it, they were against the war due to the nature of the way we presented our case and went about swearing off the international community to go to war.
This just shows how blind terror is, i have no misconceptions that the french dont understand terror, hell they understand it a lot better then us americans do. Just ask any frenchmen about algiers.
They have more of an insight to this then most stupid americans would think.

You really don't see much of anything anymore, Dre. The article even suggests how the French are confused as to why the terrorists would do this when they opposed the war. Yes it also demonstrates how terror is blind but I think the French were just as blind for assuming immunity.
articles contain spin, facts and the truth stand on their own.
France has a much long history of dealing with terrorists and this sort of violence then the US has.
That was my point, and i dont think any frenchmen who is any more intelligent then your cut and dry sheeple of the demo or repub parties would think that they got a get out of terrors way free card.
That is simply more stupid then thinking bush has the commoners best interests in his heart.

What do you think would happen if these rogue groups started kidnapping and executing workers hired by Saddam? They, along with their families and quite possibly their friends, would be publicly killed. The anarchy currently being experienced in Iraq was very predictable and avoidable.

Nice of you to check the link before you hammered me. Oh, wait you didn't do that. At least you realized it at some point.
Wow you sure are a smart one, aren't you?
First off, ALL those quotes are in the article I posted in the first post. I
used a little tool called an ellipse (google). As you should have learned in
highschool, an ellipse is a series of three dots (...) used to show that
sections of a piece of writing have been left out. This punctuation tool is
usually used to condense a piece to give it that “cliff notes feel”, Mmmmkay?
At least you edited your response to save face.

I forgot that some news agencies change their URL's when the story develops.
My apologies, ftnssn. I'm just in *******/shark mode regardless of who's posting.
