Oh please! I've asked others (my wife especially) if it was appropriate to use the restroom before a toast, use my fingers to eat "finger food", or pass gas during a black tie event. That's all he's doing. He's just trying to be polite.

 

I think he's actually asking Condie if he has to pee.

Before you ask your wife it's an appropriate time for a restroom break do you first ask her if you have to pee in the first place?

 

Maybe he was hinting to her to come and hold it for him??
