April Fools! Your hubby is really dead.

April Fools! Your hubby is really dead.

What a nightmare.

I watched the news last night and couldn't believe the report that mentioned 12 of the 13 men had actually survived. Families were rejoicing the news the minute they heard. Then they find out that it was a mistake in information 3 hours later! Unreal.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060104/...N5bnN1YmNhdA--

The miners' families learned of the 12 deaths after a harrowing night in which they were mistakenly told at first that 12 of the men were alive. It took three hours before the families were told the truth, and their joy turned instantly to fury.

That's messed up. I can't imagine what those families felt. Miscommunication? That's a small world for such a large mistake.

What sucks is that it was someone trying to spread good news and put out the wrong info. The company waiting 3 hours after they found out the wrong information was put out is totally ridiculous. As soon as they found out they should have tried to break the news that the 12 people may not be alive, and that they are awaiting confirmation.

Yeah I was reading online that they had a long string of safety issues concerning dangerous gas buildups that could lead to explosions, mine roofs collapsing, etc, etc, etc.

this calls for a "somebody ****ed up on that one"

Supposedly the somewhat fuzzy transmission from the rescue team underground got diluted by the time it reached the top. Then once the top found out the truth they didn't want to believe it themselves and then decided to verify it. This took more time before they gave their full and factual disclosure. Still unforgivable.

The families of the victims need to clean out this company for every cent. The workers currently employed under this company need to get a large share as well. What else are you supposed to do as a 30+ yr coal miner that lives in a coal mining state and town? Question the fact your employer isn't up to federal and state standard? They'll have you replaced with a more able body within the week if you do.

They need to start strip mining these damn coal mines like so many others have been doing. Turn it into a giant swimming pool, once mined refill it with the sifted soil along with soil from another location, then plant trees, vegetation and incorporate carbon based elements into the soil mix.

i saw somewhere that someone heard 12 out of 13 but not the rest on a scrambled signal..and they misunderstood the ration...which is understandable and forgivable. but for the company to wait 3 hours before telling the people is ludacris. they had one of the executives of the company talking on the news about why they waited so long and he siaid something about how they wanted to wait for the people to stop celebratring...thats the exact opposite of wehat you should do.
