Am I apolitical?

Am I un-American?

I didn't want to divert Imprezastifan88's thread about what do Repub's feel about religious issues. I couldn't post in there because I'm not a Republican...nor a democrat.

I certainly share some views with both parties, but generally am polarized against both parties overall platforms; or more specifically against how each party would like to be perceived.

I obviously support the war and all political issues dealing with military affairs, being that I'm a career soldier with almost 18 years of service.

I am very soft-hearted about children and the elderly.

I'm not necessarily against soft immigration laws until it can be proved how it's becoming detrimental to our society and way of life.

I'm against current tax laws because I don't feel that they are socialistic enough. I'd be willing to give even more if the revenue weren't spent so frivolously. Tax money should be an investment in my own well-being, unless I'm wealthy enough to afford my own family's education and healthcare. As to building and maintaining American infrastructure, there are other more efficienct and effective means of accruing funds besides taxation. Of course, for the military, there should be more revenue earmarked.

I'm pro-choice and pro-death penalty. I believe that both of those stances/policies put more responsibility on the individual. There ought to be a lot of qualifying rider bills that correspond, though, such as when you've got an illiterate mother who screws around irresponsibly and doesn't think twice about aborting her little baby; that mother should receive the death penalty after her 2nd or 3rd.

I am anti-gun law because if the Army were ever ordered to mobilize a certain segment of the population, I don't want them to be armed. If you want to hunt, you'd better learn how to stalk and then sneak up on your prey with a big bowie knife.

Street racers suck. There should be some very strict laws against anything wreckless on the street. That said, there should be 300% more tracks in the US. That and there ought to be a law that says that it's ok if I'm late to anything (that's normally the reason that I speed.)

So, with that said, which party am I? This is a trick question because no matter if you say I'm a conservative dem or a liberal repub, I still say you're wrong because I am strongly repelled by both, no matter where they fall on the spectrum.

Well, if your not a liberal republican and your not a conservative democrat you've got to be a **** baby killler. That's all there is too it.

On a serious note though, I agree with a lot of what you said so I guess we are both the acronyms of democracy. The only places in what you said that my opinion varies is with hunting. The reason I disagree is because it is part of an American heritage. I know that if America didn't have hunting NASCAR fans would be bored all winter. JK. I just think its something a lot of people were raised on and I think it would be a disservice to them to take it away from their children. I too would also be willing to pay more taxes if it went to things all of society benefitted from (i.e. not welfare checks or other programs that consume more money than they are worth).

One thing you didn't mention was your stand on criminals so I guess I'll try and take care of that one for us. I feel that if you committed any crime that did a physical injustice to another person whose effects will be everlasting that you should have one oppurtunity to appeal. If the jury is still convinced you are guilty after that you should be taken behind the court house and shot. I feel this way because I believe criminals consume to much of the working America's income which would serve better elsewhere. I believe criminals should do more than occupy a jail cell and that there disservice to the society as a whole is more than just cause to work them until that debt is repaid.
I believe people who give so much for so little (i.e. firefighters, policeman, teachers, SOLDIERS) should get a little more than what they are. I don't understand how a 9/11 victims family (as terrible as there loss may be) should recieve millions of dollars for their loss simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time when we have soldiers volunteering to die for their country and the gov't won't even pay their full burial costs. I feel we need to give more attention to America's working class because they are the essense of what is America. Last but not least I think we need to give more thumbs-up to other i-clubbers.

Best statement on teh politics yet. BTW...do any of you guys go to meets? I've gone to a couple but I don't think any of you were there...it'd be cool to at least meet each other and have some beers so we know someone isn't decapitating voodoo dolls with our screen names on them on the other side of the monitor.

HAHAHAHA Man the more I participate in this site the more I regret not being in California where I could hang out with you guys. I live in New Orleans but if anyone from this site ever decides they want to come down for Mardi Gras or any other time they should PM me. Let's just assume that if you do come you are not allowed to try and kill or inflict any bodily harm to me or my roommates.

I used to be stationed in the Monterey Bay area but now I'm about 2k miles away from Cali. I am an Impreza fanatic. Ironically, not so much because of the car (I do love the car) but because of the Impreza people I've met. I mainly meet with MW Nasioc'ers, but used to be a Hawaii i-clubber. I've met good people and not-so-good. I've never been able to say that about any 'group' of folks that I identify and get along with so much...except maybe soldiers.

Anyhow, I have some pretty extreme opinions about criminals, but I have extreme opinions about the Constitution and our laws and the guarantee of due process.

I wish that it was possible for judges to have ESP and be able to read minds. I wish folks didn't break the law. I wish that the innocent weren't victims...but none of that will ever happen (I never saw Minority Report.)

Currently, I feel protected against false arrest so long as I don't lose control of my senses. (We're all law abiding citizens, but how many of y'all ever fantasized about acting on your road rage?) Well, I'm the dumbass who would really do something to elevate the situation, so I REALLY have to keep control.

Bottom line. I'm exasperated that there are so many criminals and because the existing system is not perfect, but as far as I know, it's the closest to perfect that has ever been devised. Sure, there are probably other systems which are more efficient but I'd argue that they rob the common man of some of his rights that every American enjoys and only work because the society is much smaller than ours.

And, as to hunting, I love killing. It's fun. Wouldn't it be more of a sport, though, if you had to kill your prey with the lowest common denominator? Also, with regards to personal protection, if no one had guns, I'm very confident that I'd be able to protect my house with my bare hands.

Yeah I completely agree but I think we both know that's not the case so until I am 100% sure all criminals have relinquished their weapons I'll sleep close to my Glock.

Oh, I forgot to add, soldiers and policemen who are psychologically qualified can carry. We're good.

Yeah I'm not a fan of that baretta but I guess it's ok. 1911 could be the best all around pistol ever made though. After shooting it I can see how you're set in your ways. Nothing wrong with that.
