He frightens alot of mainstream Americans as well, not just liberals. But it's just too easy for you to lump everyone that doesn't agree with the religious right-leaning president and what he does, with the liberals.
Maybe you will wake up today and see that only 36% of Americans agree with the overall job the president is doing. Must be that the country is 64% liberal - Or maybe not everyone is a god damned lemming like you Hella.

I dont think that this is far from the truth:
"Alito is a notoriously right-wing judge on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He has consistently ruled to strip basic protections from workers, women, minorities and the disabled in favor of unchecked power for corporations and special interests."
Instead of a moderate woman, Bush is trying to appoint an individual who could very well turn back the clock by 40 years in regards to the advancement of civil liberties and personal freedoms.

Are you really this impaired? Do you huff glue sticks and run around in your skivvies?
Here are some links:
Alito's rulings show probability he would vote against Roe:

Alito rules in favor of big business over civil rights of minorities: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...202724_pf.html
Hella, how about trying to engage in a meaningful discussion rather than spew stupidity. Though you might be attention starved in your uber-conservative bubble, there are some folks in this forum who can stand firm on their argument and actually attempt to prove their point of view.

Bush has political capital, and I hope he keeps spending it.

The people of America voted for Bush and conservatives in general because they wanted the conservative agenda pushed, and one part of that is placing judges on the high court.

He may have HAD capital, but I and over 60% of Americans feel he has abused and already squandered it. I think he should take the approval rating as a hint and take a step toward moderation, that is, if he wants the houise, senate, and presidency to turn blue in 08 (hahah- you laugh now- but I'll dig this up when the day comes.)
