Adventures in RETAIL... Xmas eve desperation
SO i have worked retail for a long time. BUt I have worked at music stores and arts and crafts stores.
This is the first time I have experienced a xmas in a enviroment like a toy store.
Anyway I thought I would share some stories of desperation I have heard so far this xmas.
The most astonishing by far happend just today, I am sure i will have some better ones tomorrow.
Anyway...
I had a mom come up to me today, and let me tell you, probably the hottest chick i have ever seen in person.
she came up to me and she was looking for this toy called a d rex, really popular i guess. and she said the following...
"I really need this toy, my son asked santa for it for xmas and I cant find it anywhere. I would do ANYTHING, and yes i mean ANYTHING, *winks and rubs buttons on shirt near cleavage* if u could find this toy in your store for me"
I must have looked liek such an idiot just standing there cuz i didnt even know how to respond
I am married and have a 18 month old son but...
if i was a single dude i could be getting so much *** from these moms doing last minute shopping that just want help finding a certain toy, i know for a fact i would have a list of booty calls a mile long. I know of some other employees that have recieved favors for holding toys and what not in previous holiday seasons.
we are not even talking about giving discounts, i am talking about just finding a certain item.

I have also had people offer me $500 over the phone if i were to hold a NIntendo wii for them until they get there (we arent allowed to do this)
Been told if i just hold it for 20 minutes they will find me and give me $500 cash moneys.
I know some of you are gonna say" oh you should just do it" but 2 things to that. #1 I would lose my job and i def make more than that in a week and a weeks worth the pay just wont do it for me
and #2 i was without work for almost 3 months and I need this job and it just isnt worth it.

I am also one of the managers so i have to deal with the darker side as well
on another note I have been told that a customer was going to file a law suit against me because we have a certain toy in our ad but we are out of stock of it.
I was also told that i was goign to be sued for false advertising becuase someone thought something was on sale and it wasnt.
when they get really out of control i just tell them that my job has really great lawyers we use for suits like that so i am not worried abotu that.

Watch out for burned out retailers tomorrow, tomorrow is our day.
NO we dont have anymore in the back
NO you can not get a discount becuase the packaging is bent, you are just gonna tear it open anyway.
NO i will not honor the price it was tagged. It rings up for the price it is, if you dont want it someoen else will buy it.
NO i will not do any holds for you
and NO i dont care if you think I ruined Xmas for you and yoru kids because you wanted to wait til xmas eve to try and find the most popular toy of the year.

But what if I would do ANYTHING for a Furby....and I mean ANYTHING...*wink wink, makes pelvic thrusts in your direction*
Seriously though....I love living vicariously through single friends. I feel your pain, as a married man. Can't honestly tell you what I would've done either....no kids here.

If I wasn't married and in that situation, you know i'd be banging the milf.
On a deeper note (no pun intended), why are parents putting themselves through all this?! Get that wish list early, or tell them the truth and save all yourselves a bunch of headache. (except with the kids go to school and tell their friends there is no santa claus i'm sure you'll hear it from other parents...)
This is probably the only time I'd be happy about a parent spoiling their kid, willing give up some fine milf tang for a toy. You know she's been banged by a lot of dudes... a lot of dudes...

Way back in the day I worked retail. I had a lady throw a shoe at me because the toilet in our bathroom was out of service. It was seriously stopped up and we were waiting for the crowd to die down a little bit before we fixed it. She totally missed me and stormed out with her son. I was also one of the ski techs. Talk about desperation. People would bring their ski's in the day before their ski trip hoping to get a tune done. When we showed them the wall of work orders they would try and bribe the hell out of us. You name it, they'd offer it. Legal or illegal.
