New Tire Time

Any recommendations on tires? I have the stock 17" wheels. I'd like to get something grippy and fun. Any thoughts?

My shop is gonna have a big sale on tires from 2/18-2/21. PM me the size and tire you want and I'll give you a quote on a set.

Thanks for this. I'll go down to the garage and get my size.

I've read the reviews for the RE-11 and the Direzza Star Specs. They sound really good, Especially the Star Specs. Any thoughts about something that could handle a little bit of snow/cold? I don't do much skiing anymore, but I do drive up to some cold places like Yosemite. It seems like both of those tires don't do well once it gets cold.

I wouldn't recommend using a performance tire like the star specs or the re-11 in the snow, not that it is harmful but it isn't at operating temps. Probably better off with All seasons for the snow. Oh wow wait you live in san Mateo too? So do I haha. Well I used to use star specs now I have RE-11s because of the better wet performance. So far I like them a lot!

I've just started hunting again. All weather is what I'm looking for. I'm sad the re-11s or star specs won't work for me. They sounded sweet!

I have these also, very plush ride. Good grip in the wet as well; ten times better than the Yokohama S-Drives I had before (shudder). However, NO tire has ever measured up to my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s - sadly, discontinued.

Anyways, grippy fun and all-seasons have an indirect relationship.
