Got an 09 impreza and the hill start assist light stayed on for awhile after driving and I've been hearing a squeal from the driver side front brake until they warm up... Could the light staying on have anything to do with the light kicking on as somewhat of a warning the brakes need to be changed?

 

Check your fuses. Had that happen in my 11 and it was just a bad tail light fuse. Not related to the squeaky brake, but an easy check before getting too serious.

 

Wouldn't I have a brake light out though
