Coilovers for a STi 2008

2 Attachment(s)
Hey i-clubers!
I'm currently looking into coilovers and deciding what I might invest in. I don't track or autocross. I'm a daily driver and occasionally spirit drive. I want to dump my car and hopefully camber it out (HellaFlush).

I have a 2008 STi (:

You guys have any suggestions what coilovers I might invest in?
BC coils, Tein, HKS, etc...

Looking for some ride comfort or dont care? there are alot of little things that can help someone buy a coilover set over another, like Camber adjustments, Ride height, Stiffness adjustments.

So far I have been reading good reviews on BCs even though they are on the cheaper Taiwanese side they have been supposedly performing better then Megans, D2, ETC....and they go pretty low. Teins i would say go with Monoflex if you can save up for those ride nicely and go low. .Been multiple reviews on the HKS on being STIFF but if that is what you want that might be better for you but dont know about ride height on those. I highly suggest getting something with Stiffness and Ride Height adjustment though.

Thanks bro, I'm looking in to BCs now. Do you prefer BC Racing BR or BC Racing RM

make sure get some damper adjustment...
megans get softer after a while. not too soft but good enough

hwob90 Nov 15, 2010 10:09 AM

Alot of people seem to like the BRs havent seen much on the RMs though.

BC's dont go low enough on our cars

hwob90 Nov 15, 2010 10:42 PM

I was hoping you would chime in mrvinh since you had these before i believe. In some pics they seem like they go pretty low though.

Don't bother with D2s, Megans are the same thing as Megans, just a different color. The only issues I read about Megans are the occasional chirp and squeak

Oh, BC's go plenty low.

Like dump, you mean like bag status? Well I have BC BRs I love them have not had one issue at all. I plan on going with KWs soon or BC ERs.

L-SCHLEGS STi can pull this off with just this on BC's if that isn't low then I don't know what is

Well then, I say BC BR's are the right coilover for you.

AlanNgo7 Nov 16, 2010 10:41 PM

Thanks for everyone's comments and help. This seriously helped me out (:

trust me. its not gunna get you low enough. His looks dump because he running a 275series tires that fills that gap up.

i wasnt really able to tuck tires with the BC's especially running the tires currently. I bottomed out the rears and it looks funny to me still. You could remove the collar but i dont really want to do that. I picked up stance coilovers, coz they go low without dropping the spring/ remove collar alla that stuff.

maybe BC's will do the job for you man. idanno its not low enough for me. here's my car with the BC, that was with 255's tires. currently i have 235's and the gap is dumb. I needa put the new coils on and lower it more.
