Stock RS suspension is already the same as that year's WRX suspension, except for rear sway bar. You just have a different engine and transmission. Just upgrade your RSB (I recommend 20mm or 18-20-22 adjustable) and poof, you have a N/A WRX.

Your best upgrade routes are Prodrive (if you can find any) or STi v5 struts and springs. Prodrive P1 and v5 are very very similar. The P1 is slightly softer up front and stiffer in the rear, so I figure it's the most neutral of the three. I'll be posting full review in a few weeks after I install my P1.

In the meantime, get a 20mm RSB or ~20mm adjustable ASAP. You'll find it a totally different car once you do. The suspension that's on there is very good already, it just sems lacking because everybody here is always talking about how great their mods are.

If Brian's info is correct on his site (www.ravensblade-impreza.com) the spring rates are a bit different between the MY2000 and the WRX as well as the MY2002 RS.

MY1998-2001 RS: F 157 R 149

MY 2002 RS (MT/AT): F 149/158 R 117/129

MY 2002 WRX sedan(MT/AT): F 163/163 R 119/132

MY2002 WRX Wagon(MT/AT): F 163/163 R 132/144

So I would not say the suspension is the same. The rollcenters/geometry are also different between the old body style and new.

I would agree that the best upgrade for teh GC8 chassis would be the Prodrive WR suspension (Bilstein/Eibach) or the P1 suspension (V5 struts/P1 springs).

What I meant was, you already have GC8 WRX suspension, not GDA suspension. they are different because the cars have different curb weights and different weight distribution, as well as different roll centers due to the wider track of the GDA. You do have MY2000 WRX suspension other than the RSB.

check out:

They offer a complete kit including 3-way adjustable anti-sway bar, endlinks, bushings, and mounts...it seems like a pretty good deal to me...

so according to ur comparison from the old rs to the new rs 00rs-157 - 02rs-149mt, does that mean the lesser number is softer or stiffer???
