Wilwood 6 piston Big Brake Kit!!
Just ordered my Wilwood 6 piston big brake kit!!! I also got a full set of stainless brake lines and extra pads for street as well as track. I cant wait to get these installed. The guys at Wilwood were great to deal with. I spoke to one of their staff at a vendor show in Indianapolis. After discussing brakes for an hour I decided to go with Wilwood instead of Stoptech. Nothing against Stoptech I liked what I saw with the Wilwood package and the price was less. Product pics and reviews to follow once they arrive and after they are installed.

Let me know how the install goes and how they feel, cause thats my next modification to mine. I've learned in the past, going fast is great, but when you can't stop, its not so fun. I am trying to hit the suspension and brakes first, then I will go for the speed.

LOL yeah, I went down that path with my mustang. I have a 86 GT, and if u know anything about Mustangs, the brake system, especially the 86 and older, is horrible, 10" front rotors and crappy drum brakes in the rear. At the time I was making about 320 or so HP raced a vette, got up to around 110, tried to stop and the brakes would not stop the car LOL. so the next day I ordered the Cobra R brakes(13" front rotors, 12" rear rotors) and it made a world of a difference.
The only Power upgrades to my car so far is a KNN typhoon air intake kit and a GFP BOV.

The 6-pot is a so-called Big Brake Kit (BBK) with a 12.9" rotor.
The 4-pot from companies like perrin use your stock rotor and a completly different caliper.
This company has some interesting middle ground kits: http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com/wrx.html

My car is used as a track car. I run some rather high speed tracks so I want BIG brakes. Wilwood has been making brakes for race cars for a very long time. After speaking to them I decided that their kit would be great for both track and street.
As soon as I get my DMS coilovers back from being rebuilt I will be putting everything on for this season. Pics and updates will be forthcoming soon.

Sorry to take so long to reply to this thread. My wife and I moved and it took Verizon 3 1/2 weeks to reconnect my DSL service. Verizon is the WORST!!! AHHH!!
Anyway, I decided to go with Wilwood after getting to see their product in person and talking to their brake engineers. They make a beautiful strong lite 6 piston caliper the rotors are stamped AP. This would lead me to believe that the rotors are from AP wich is an equally highly regaurded brake company. They answered all my questions, debunked some of the false information floating around the forum groups and their big brake kit is less expensive than everyone elses comprable kits. In this case as far as I can tell you still get everything that you are paying for
without sacrificing anything.
Wilwood is highly respected brake manufacturer in the racing and Hotrod/Street Rod performance industry. My father in law has several
Hotrods with Wilwood brakes on them.
I highly recommend going with the Wilwood big brake kit. As soon as my coil overs get back I will be installing everyting soon.
