It depends on how big you sway bar is. People have used stock mounts with aftermarket sway bars but it is not a good idea.

Did you upgrade your endlinks? Thats what I would be worried about. I have a 24mm rear bar and im still using the stock mounts

You'll be better off with a better mount, but stock should work OK. Endlinks are definitely worth an upgrade as well, but with solid ones, I'd be looking to replace the mounts too.

I broke my Whiteline upgraded rear mounts and had to weld them back together. I was only using a 22-24 adjustable. If you aren't going to be tossing your weight around and putting a lot of stress on it, it will be ok. Once you do start driving it hard, they will break.

exactly. normal driving conditions is fine just don't go autocrossing and expecting it will be ok later.

The "box" one or the extruded one?

I am actually not so much a fan of the Whiteline extruded mount design. It is basically sliced extruded aluminum part. Probably tougher than stock, but not optimum. If it just had a vertical wall attached to one or both sides or a central rib, I would expect it to be much stronger IMO.

I am using the OEM STI mount, which is a little beefier than the WRX one. Seems to work well so far. I liked the Perrin Stout Mount the best, but it is flat instead of angled like stock, so it requires a clamp and bushing to fit that.

They're fine.

I'd run Whiteline's endlinks... strike that... I am running whitelines. I have had perrin's and kartboys. Whiteline is a better product for 02-07 wrx platforms. Hands down.

You have a whiteline bar. Get the whiteline endlinks. Don't be swayed by the... oh but kartboys are $30 cheaper. They're not. Pay $15 for the hardware and guess what they're $15 cheaper. Not worth it. Buy the whitelines. I'm happy to let you look at a set I have in my trunk right now and I can get a set of kartboys. I will put them in your hand and you tell me if it's worth saving $15.

As for your bar and your mounts. 02 wrx rear sway bar mounts SUCK. They are not reinforced like the 04 and up ones. I'd highly recommend at the very least getting the 04-07 mounts. I'm sure you can get them for free from someone that upgraded to whiteline or perrin or what not.

The combination of the bar with the endlinks is going to transfer stress somewhere. That's the mounts.

Will it fail. Not likely on a day to day set up but it's not really worth the risk. YOu snap that part mid turn and it can be catastrophic.

I know 3 guys that have busted mounts ranging from stock to aftermarket and that's just off the top of my head.

Keep it whiteline.

agreed. I have the original one. It's much much beefer than stock but the new version is way better.
