What is the best coilovers to get?

I was wondering what is the best set of coilovers to get for my 03 wrx?. I want to be able to lower it more than 2 inches (drop till I scrape) but I do not want that much of a jerk, but I also want them to last also (do not want to change them in a couple of years). I live in Pennsylvania so my main roads are like everyone elses back roads (crap). Right now I have a set of MAtrix coil over kits on that can lower it 0 - 4 inches and I have it maxed out and believe it or not it rides pretty much like stock, just a little stiffer though. I do not drive it much so I am not worried about my struts going too too fast, atleast before I buy the coilovers, TIA...

Well if ride quality is a concern, the HKS Suspension is probably the best.

I hear the H&R Coilovers and DMS 40's are pretty good for street driving as well, being tuned with that in mind.

Actually I have the H&R coilovers and they ride more on the track set-up side than the street side.

Top coilovers are Tein, JIC, HKS, APexi.

Top adjustable coil is Ground control.

holla if you need anything.

I would never put Tein or JIC in the "Top" category. I would though put them in the top of this list for this particular application.

More like budget priced units and weekend racer hardware if anything.

HKS, Ohlins, Bilstien, Koni, DMS, are all better suited to "Top" categories.

From my experience, I would definately put the JIC FLT-A2s above my DMS Gold 40s. With the right spring and dampening setup, its fairly streetable.

JIC FLT-A2 are very very good from what i hear. They are the same if not better than Tein Flex. But the coilover lacks technology and design to make it perform up to the JIC standards. The JIC coil over has adjustable height, seperate rebound and compression adjustments, nitrogen gas charge, and adjustable camber. The FLTA2 also uses a inverted Monotube shock inside which is far superior to Teins twin tube design. The Twin Tube is much cheaper to manufacturer and ride quality and performance is effected.

No ... I've only had the DMS 40s. I never got a chance to try out the 50s, but I've heard that they are remarkable for their ability to adjust ride heights (really useful for rallying).

i would imagine that they have pretty good rigidity and damping control due to those sturdy shafts as well.
