What are you looking for exactly? Are you planning to do track time? Either replace the stock rotors with OE or just get some slotted or cross drilled rotors. The main thing is to have some good brake pads. You OE pads are most likely Organic base pads. The good thing about organic pads are that they do not wear out as fast as the semi-metallic and that they do not produce brake dust, but due to the low wear of the organic pads you are not creating “FRICTION” to stop the car. The characteristics of the organic pads are that they work well in low temperature, but in higher temperature the pads will start to fade.
By getting some slotted or cross drilled rotors with some good pad, it will increase your brake “POWER”. The slotted or cross drilled rotors will help to reduce heat transfer to the brake pads and also it will keep a clean brake surface for the rotor and pads.
Good luck.

Yeah, it's not easy(or really terribly useful) to decrease emergency stopping distance. First, your tires have to be able to hold the road. Stock brakes should be able to lock your wheels(not what you want, but it's an emergency, you're not thinking, and that's why they give you ABS) w/ stock rubber... sticky tires may keep the wheels rolling, but will stop you better anyway. Bigger brakes won't make too much of a difference, they're mostly there for heat capacitance and you won't reach the limits of the stock system w/ one 80-0 stop. How many times do you have one emergency right after another. Also consider, if you make an emergency stop, and you do it that much faster than designed, you run a real risk of getting run over from the SUV that has been riding your *** has double your stopping distance...
