Thank You ABS!!!

So i went snowboarding today at Big Bear and opn the way up there was an accidentabout a 1/4 mile infront of me. Unfortunately there was a patch of ice in a shadow and a camry got rear ended hard by a Tacoma. Someone got hurt and all. Anyways, as the gap between cars quickly shortened, everyone infront of me slammed on the brakes over the same patch of ice. Luckily, as I went over the patch of ice, my ABS kicked in and I didn't tap the car in front of me as the ford focus in front of me did to the car in front of it. Pretty amazing considering I was riding on my bald re92's. I guess I don't hate my ABS so much anymore.

Thumbs up

Good to hear that a Subie escaped from a potential accident. From what I heard, the calibration of the ABS on the WRX was designed for icy roads and that sort of bad road condition. That's why I think the ABS is a bit too sensitive on dry roads. Anyhow, stay safe out there.

Yeah, I wanted to disable my ABS cause I thought it was too sensetive, but I lived for a winter up in Tahoe, and I have a feeling it saved me more then once. But, as stated above, Subaru ABS seems way too sensetive on anything but icy/snowy roads.

Now, all I need is to rig up a switch to turn abs on or off depending on whether I need it or not.
