TEIN vs. HOTCHKIS
Which is a better setup for a WRX wagon? the HOtchkis TVS or the TEIN flex coilovers.....I know the Hotchkis is more stuff, but what is everyones opinion, i like tein but i hear hotchkis has a great setup with the "total vehicle system"....whats everyones input?
Well I have heard that Hotchkis uses Bilstien guts for their coilovers. If so, that is much much better then Tein.
Bilstien is a very top quality manufacturer and actually give a lifetime guarantee. Of course Hotchkis doesn't have to give that same gaurantee, but at least you know the components should be up to task.
But since it'll be ages before the WRX TVS system comes out, you may just have to settle for a Tein system
I dont really see why it takes so damn long to make something....

Bilstein= excellent quality, but Tein did go the extra mile to develop their sedan and wagon stuff independently. I don't think you'd be losing out with either one.
I have the SPT/STi setup so I can't claim to know anything about either companies products as of yet. I can say that the tech support person that responds to the email is very helpful and courteous. I had asked if their progressive lowering springs fit over the STi struts, and the honestley stated that they weren't sure, but I like they would make arrangements to see if it does fit, all I have to do is go down there. Its not too far from me, so I told him I would make an appointment when I had more time.
So far my experience with them is good, it bugs me when a company won't even respond to email.
On a side note, I contacted Ground Control, to see if their coilover kit fits these same struts. They said no, but there is a picture of their kit on these same struts on their website.
oh well. let you know more, when I know more.
peace,
RR

what is Hotchkis TVS???????
From what I know is, TEIN is only company that makes lower spring specifically for WRX wagon not like eibach or others that just makes lower spring that can be used for both wrx and wrx wagon. Based on that, I will image TEIN will designed FLEX system specifically for WRX Wagon. Plus they have EDFC

Tein has no plans to do a wagon Flex system..the sedan one works just fine.
As far as springs, we have used the Tein's, Eibach and prodrives on sedans and wagons with equally great results - great drop, great ride and better handling.

According to the picture on their website there are no struts with the set. You get swaybars, endlinks (front and rear), rear swaybar mounts, and a front strut tower brace/camber plates combo.
