Tein Flex/EDFC vs. AGX/Prodrives
Tein Flex/EDFC vs. AGX/Prodrives
Currently running AGX's with Prodrives on my '04 wagon.
I've enjoyed my two track days at Thunderhill, and I was wondering if there was any real advantage to the Tein's (with the EDFC) over the current set-up for more track days, some daily driving and the occasional autocross as a first, cost-effective set of coilovers. I have heard that the Tein's can clunk.
Thanks!

just installed the Tein Flex coilovers in my '05 wagon. I am VERY pleased with them. Extremely comfortable ride for the amount of performance increase. Not nearly as harsh as I was worried about. Only time your brain rattles is driving over the "Bots dots" lane markers. Also, my CD player was pretty unhappy with the amount of "chatter" over the cement sections of highway with the every-8-foot expansion joints. Smooth asphalt is a dream.
Although I've only driven about 400 miles on them, no rattles or noises whatsoever.
I do not have the EDFC, yet, but will consider it in the future. Ride height was set a little too low, as my 215/45/17's occ. rub in the back with heavy cornering or enter/exit driveways. Seems like it would be nice, but hardly required". I haven't even experimented with shock settings, yet.
I would say comfort is at a level equal to or better than stock and I am not concerned about my wife complaining too much.
good luck

Tein $$
I would say that a "common" price that I have seen for a set of used Tein Flex is ~$900 (w/o EDFC).
I can't comment on any changes there may have been for 2006 and whether older versions are compatible.
Obviously, you just have to search to see what's available at any given time and in any area. price ~ supply/demand.
aloha,
