I run the Perrin adjustable sways on both front and rear with Perrin endlinks and Tein Flex w/EDFC. Very happy with the performance, cut seconds (2.3) off of my track time. Stock 1:02:34; 1:00.28 with suspension upgrades.

Perrin Sway Bar

I had a 22mm Perrin Rear Sway Bar and Whiteline endlinks installed on my '04 WRX sedan back in May. Handling noticeably improved w/ the upgrade, but the ride became noisy when going over speed bumps or road imperfections. Lately it's become even noisier w/ a lot of squeaky sounds even when I turn into my driveway or going over bumps at 5mph.

I've never had aftermarket sway bars prior to this, so I was wondering if this is normal. Or is this something I need to get checked. Anybody had any similar experience w/ aftermarket sway bars?

Thanks!

My understanding is its normal. I have whiteline RSB + endlinks +mounts, and after a few months (time depends on use) they start squeeking, mainly at big movements so usually slower speeds. So when i go up our driveway (5" round curb) or go over a big bump (especially speed bumps, and especially when i go over them slightly diagonal). My understanding is that it is because the mounts get dirty. I know that cleaning them and re-greasing makes it go away for a while for me. - Dirt roads makes it noisier faster.

Hope that helps

...ya need to lube the bushings....a bit of grease will take care of it.

The '04+ rear swaybar mounts are WAY-WAY more HD than the '02-'03's and no need to upgrade them unless you are gonna use R-compounds at the track---AND they bolt right up to the earlier year cars
Cost is ~$30 or less.

And as far as a the bars are concerned ya got hollow or not and known quality brands or not and adjustable or not. IMO, there is no reason not to get an adjustable rear bar, especially if you live in 'snow' areas---so you can soften the bar in the winter to help improve traction and reduce snap oversteer. Adjustable front bars have been problematic for many users, and few are available because of this.

If weight is a concern, get the hollow ones...if not, the Whiteline bars are hard to beat for the $$$ as are their links, but the stock rear links are junk.

Many people think that since the stock front links are steel(on the sedan), they don't need to be upgraded....I got some HD Noltec front links and feel that they made an improvement in front end 'feel' in transitions.
