Suspension setup for '02 WRX (springs or coilovers)

I'm looking for a slightly more aggressive suspension set up than stock for my '02.
I'd like to keep the ride close to stock because I have to take the car on a 1400mile road trip on a fairly regular basis .... and because I don't want to hear about how bouncy it is from the girl in the passenger seat every time I drive it.

I plan on using the car in auto x occasionally ... mostly it's an aggressive street car for daily driving.

The only suspension mods so far are a Cobb adjustable rear sway bar and rear end links.
I'm running 225/40R18s for tires on 18in Driftz rims.

Thanks for the help

I ran the Eibach springs for a year or so before coilovers and they were excellent. They drop the car, but not enough to blow the stock dampers and give a really noticable improvement in handling.

I definitely agree with this. The Eibach springs are an awesome product and you will not be disappointed by them. Two of my friends have these on their WRX's and they swear by them

I would go with a nice progressive spring like the Eibach's in combination with new swaybars.

If you end up looking at Coilovers, then look at the RCE T2's, Bilstein's, KW's, basically anything that is German Engineered as the Valving on the struts is well worth the price.

HOWEVER, for your application, something like Prodrive, STI Pinks, Whiteline Comfort, RCE Springs, etc. matched with something like the D-Spec struts would probably be a better option and cheaper (yes it will cost roughly same price as Entry-Level Coilovers, BUT you will probably find it to be a much better ride).

I would recommend upgrading to STi take-off struts and Swift springs.

I'm currently running JDM pink springs on my '04 STi, and although I like them, I think the pinks are a little too "bouncy".

You will really like the Swift springs, and the STi take-off struts are much better damped than your current stockers.

It really isn't a recommendation, but I hope this spectrum/list thing comes in handy. I was looking for a coilover set-up and was compiling information about various set-ups.

Thanks all
I ended up getting some Tein springs (with the least amount of drop possible) and love them

except that I tried to get my car washed today and found out that "least amount of drop possible" is still alot ;/
