Suspension damage questions
I launched my '02 sedan over a pretty nice ditch out in the desert this weekend (didn't see it coming). I was going maybe 55-60 when I hit it. I think it was actually good I was going as fast as I was, otherwise I may have stuck the nose in the other side (it was maybe 3-4' across!!!). It was too late to brake, so I didn't.
The obvious damage is: mangled drivers side front control arm, all 4 shock tubes bent right above the mounting bolts, and some nasty scrapes on the oil pan and various other parts of the undercarriage. The question is: what other more subtle damage should I be looking for? Anyone else make such a bonehead mistake as this? I am interested in any constructive feedback, not "what the heck were you doing launching your car over a ditch?", which is what I have gotten from most everyone I have talked to so far...
I am particularly concerned about the rear links, but they really don't look bent. Anybody have some benchmark measurements to gauge if/how the rear suspension may have been affected (other than the obvious -10 deg camber from the bent shocks)? Thanks in advance.

once you get the shocks and control arms replace, take the car into a very good alignment shop. they should be able to tell you if the rear lateral links are bent. i'd also check the strut tops, and make sure that the shock mounts aren't bent or damaged. you might also want to make sure that the frame is straight after an impact like that...
one a side note, i may have some rear lateral links for sale in a week or two if yours are hosed.
