You CANNOT order the 2pot rears from Subaru of America. Whoever told you that does not know that it has been tried before. I know I have tried. Overall the setup and time and cost of putting in the 2pots in the rear will be close to 1600. The reason is because you need to pull the whole upright apart. You also need to replace the bearings in the spindles which are an additional $200. After the cost of labor and installation it gets up there. You will not see a signifcant increase in braking power. You are better off getting the Legacy Turbo rear vented kit through dealers and that is a bolt on setup.

If these brakes do not help you to stop any better, why does Subaru make them standard equipon other WRX's around the globe?
Do the people who say this is a pointless upgrade have the credentials to second guess the engineers that put them on in the first place? Or does it seem more likely that Subaru of America decided to "dumb down" the WRX to sell more by keeping the prices down?
I don't think this upgrade is pointless, and I am sure the people who have done the mod would agree with me.

First of all your tires stop you not your brakes.....and....
If you are foolish to pay the amount of $$$ to do the rear 2-pots for no real gains in performance EXCEPT AT THE TRACK, then you could buy better rear TRACK brakes for the $$$.

Some heated opinions here. A lot of it is correct tho.
You cant order the 2pot rears from a US dealer.
There are three large rear rotor options(excluding the STi Brembos and the SVX rears) for Subarus made since 1990.
H6 Upgrade uses a 290x10mm rotor with a single pot caliper
B4/GT-B Upgrade uses a 290x18mm rotor with a single pot caliper
STi 2pot Upgrade uses a 290x18mm rotor with a 2pot caliper
The 2pot upgrade is expensive to purchase and install as the guys have said. The other two options bolt right up to your stock backing plate. The upside is the 2pot caliper is aluminum and an opposed design. Pad changes are very quick as well just like the 4pot fronts.
It is an expensive kit, but people have paid a lot more for less beneficial upgrades to their cars.

Stupid people do stupid things every day and then say "Oh, well"...
....and children shouldn't be allowed to drive, either.
And I had a guy who has an STi drive my car tonite and said my brakes are better than his.....so I think I got it right

Stupid and ignorant people also give opinions that were not asked for. Just because you give advice doesn't mean that people have to listen to it. That doesn't make my idea stupid, but it makes you look very unintelligent to give an opinion that wasn't requested and to ridicule people who have different plans for THEIR CAR, not YOURS!
