I highly doubt it - those are standard on all the other WRXs across the world

No, the front you will not even touch the ABS sensor when installing it but the rear I think you might need to R/R the brake and ABS.

I think he means R&R, which is Remove and Replace. ABS is Anti-lock Braking System, which you should be vaguely familiar with if YOU intend on messing w/ your brakes. Yes those might be off a 06 USDM WRX, or a earlier year, nonUSDM WRX.

Just make sure you have rims that will clear. For the most part 7" wide will clear them.

some info:

If you're going to do that, spend a few hundred more and get a Stoptech kit for the front and be done with it. You'll need 17" wheels, but I'm guessing the '05 WRX wheels won't clear the front 4-pots anyway since none of the other 16x6.5" Subaru wheels do. The 4-pot upgrade gives you a much firmer pedal, but really doesn't enhance the braking system all that much. In brakes, like so many things, size matters and rotor size is the real key when it comes to fade resistance and shedding heat reliably. The Stoptech kit gives you a very firm pedal, massive and very pretty calipers (if calipers can be pretty, these are), and a very real increase in braking performance. And you don't have to touch the rear brakes.

I've tried all sorts of things to get my own WRX braking system to really work, and that includes using Subaru 4-pots, a Wilwood kit, and finally the Stoptechs. And before anyone brings it up, yes you can make the OEM brakes fade free with the proper pads. I did that too. And melted the caliper dust seals, cooked wheel bearings, etc. on track.

To answer your original question, like others said the front 4-pots don't have any effect on the ABS system. They just bolt in place of your OEM 2-pot front calipers, fit the 294mm rotor perfectly, and work just like any stock braking system does. I have not touched the rears other than to upgrade pads/lines/rotors, so I can't comment on putting 2-pot rears back there.

Regards,

Phil
