quick question, what kind of struts come stock on the 04 sti's? i bought my car used and yestersay when installind helix endlinks and a cucso swaybar i noticed my struts had KYB on the back of them, i wasn't sure if those were the stock struts

 

 

KYB did manufacture struts for subaru. There are still KYB manufactured struts listed in the current Subaru performance catalog but they're listed for the 98-01 2.5rs pn soa837z1100. I don't know if they had a specific set for your car,but if you go to the KYB website you'll see they still manufacture inserts.You have to cut up your stock struts and put in new guts-messy job but not beyond the back yard mechanic.If someone had already done this the replacement ineserts would be easy to renew.You could try emailing koni tech service too.

stock struts on most 04 STi's are red/pink...

and yeah, I'm pretty sure the stockers say KYB on them

 

Its not as easy as you think because subaru parts have only subaru part numbers no matter who made them-you have to physically see an unaltered 04 sti strut to tell if it ever said KYB on it. The '04 STI Spring/strut combo is P/N's 203004s100,110,120,130 depending on which corner they went on.But there's no mention of manufacturer.

 

alright i think they are stock. they look like the normal red ones
