Fronts are same thickness. 20mm for both. No point to swap them.

STi rear bars are mostly 20mm (i think there were a few 19mm bars)

Rears on 02 WRX sedan and some 03 WRX sedan are also 20mm. 04+ WRX rear bars were 17mm. You can measure yours pretty quickly.

All WRX Wagons were 17mm rear.

The issue is the rear STi bar is about 2 inches longer. You can get it to fit but it's not acting like an equivalent 20mm and it's hardly an upgrade. The effectiveness is reduced considerably due to the way it mounts.

Short answer, don't bother swapping them, even if they're free.

having stock springs or aftermarket don't matter with sways.

Personally, i have only had whiteline sways and love them. They are one of the only mods that I would say is the best bang for your buck in terms of suspension.

I have been told that you really don't need to replace the front endlinks since more pressure will be put on the rear ones so what I did was get a front and rear whiteline sway bar with whiteline rear endlinks and I'm loving it

I have both front and rear I would say if anything the car feels much more neutral through turns and stable.

I'm not really understanding the snow plow effect lol

^^ that could be it. If he has adjustable ones and fools around with them he could possibly get rid of the snow plow effect and have the car where he wants it, just a thought.
