Steering rack bushings for the 2006 Impreza

How does the 2006 WRX steering bushings compare to the other years?

Has the "steering slop" been reduced by the factory in the new models?

Any one done a steering bushing swap in an 06? (can seem to find anybody saying which bushings fit)

Actually, the redesign on the 05/06 sti steering rack is quite good. Stock a lot of the slop is gone. I have installed the whiteline 05/06 sti steering rack bushings in mine and it did reduce the little slop it had. I would have to say it was worth it. The install was a bit of a pain, but I did it before they started sending out the tool for the driver side bushings with the kit. Should be pretty easy now. Hope that helps

So this install is pretty easy with the removal tool? I just got my kit in the mail and was wandering if i should attempt it myself or have a shop do it. What do you suggest from your experience with it?

Thanks

I DLed a video of somebody doing the install. It doesn't seem to difficult. You have to take off a plastic cover, the jacking point, the 'stiffening bar' underneath the car, take off the two brackets holding the steering rack in place, remove the bushings and reverse the process.

It took him about 20 minutes, although I'm sure that wasn't his first time.
