"That's why the WRX STi has state-of-the-art braking from world-famous specialists Brembo. In front, 17 inch, 30 mm thick ventilated discs have 4 pot aluminium calipers. At the rear, 2 pot calipers lock on to 17 inch, 20 mm thick ventilated discs."
I find it very hard to beleive that the rotors are 17inch. They must be referring to the wheel size. That qoute was from this site:

That crap
really hacks me off. Several manufacturers classify their rotor sizes by the WHEEL size they use on them. Unfortunately Subaru is not at all consistant with this or USDM would have 16" front wheels and 14" rears-LOL.
To answer your question Alex. The STi Brembo rotors are:
Front 326x30mm
Rear 316x20mm(190mm hand brake)
k.
edit: No idea on the caliper piston size, but brake balance is matched front to rear.

The reason I am asking is becuase I got a front and rear set coming along my 6MT and I already have the 332x32 F40 Brembo setup. So I am trying to figure out if I want to keep my F40's and add the rears, or put both STi rears and fronts.
What do you guys think?

Just my thoughts, but I'd use the the matched STi Brembo setup and sell your current F40 set. I think the fronts from the Sti should have nearly the level of performance of the F40s plus they will be well-matched to the rears as well.
And they will sure look good together too.
BTW Alex the fronts will bolt right up to your front knuckles but the rear install is gonna be a little more involved.

Yeah, I know. I got the hubs, axles and rear diff (R180) to go along with my 6MT setup. I also got the front axles. God bless Jude.
I think I will do the whole STi setup. You are right. Jude is throwing in the STi brake booster so I will be perfectly matched with that setup. Yahoo!

A tip: lose the stock Brembo pads (if your set comes with them). They don't do the calipers/rotors justice.
If you're just driving on the street, they're more than fine. But once you push it under track conditions, they're quite disappointing IMHO.

Yeah, I would do the whole setup. Because that system was balanced and designed to work with everything that you are getting for the brake setup.

I have a GREAT idea! Since Alex and me are such good pals he should slap the JDM rears on the car and use the F40 brakes up front cuz they are much better suited for his track use and then GIVE me the JDM STI fronts! THanks Alex, in advance!
